About Us
Lamorbey Park Cricket Club (The Squirrels) are a Sunday wandering team who used to play at Rose Bruford College by the Glades in Lamorbey, Sidcup DA15.
The club formed in 1957 and has recruited ever since by word of mouth. The club used to have Saturday league and Sunday friendly teams. The league team used to compete in the Kent Regional League, which is now known as the Feeder League, and had many a successful season until, due to a number of factors, we became a Sunday only side.
The club moved grounds in 2003 and played several seasons at Footscray Rugby Club in New Eltham before calling time on the venue and league cricket in 2011. Since then, we have only played away games, primarily in Kent, but if the teas are good we are happy to venture out of the county on the odd occasion.
The main objective is for everyone who plays to get as much of a game as possible and to the enjoy the day from start to finish — including a nice cold refreshing drink and chat with the opposition in their bar after the game.
The club welcomes all players of any standard and currently has players ranging from the age of 16 to 68. We are a friendly team who don’t take the game too seriously but still enjoy winning.
This year is our 66th season as a club and we hope it to be our most enjoyable thus far.
