Sunday saw the squirrels take on Chislehurst in a rearranged fixture after Sidcup couldn’t raise a team.
Chislehurst won the toss and it was clear after the opening bat controversially didn’t get given out after seemingly being caught behind and stumped on the same ball, it was going to be a long day.
Chislehurst then took advantage of a rapid outfield, lacklustre bowling and ordinary fielding from the squirrels as they piled on a massive 314 from their 40 overs.
Andy Hall (0-46) and Harry S (1-40) were the stand out bowlers on an unforgiving deck for bowling. Special mention to any also to show a lot of bravery after getting smashed in the face and nearly losing his teeth after the ball popped up at him in the outfield. To come back on and bowl and field like he did showed true squirrels spirit and having players like Andy on the pitch is a skippers dream.
Min (11) and Tom (31) got Lamorbey off to a decent start in the reply, with Harry S (21), Andy Hall (28) and Vinnie (12) all looking good at the crease in the middle.
The tail then wagged with the skip (61), Howesy (20) and Himanshu (31) all helping us post a decent 249 all out.
Howesy showing what a class bat bat he is and unlucky not to push on. Himanshu also hitting the ball harder than anyone on the day.
The squirrels lost by 65 runs.
Fine of the day - Kev
Player of the match - Andy Hall
