Sunday saw the squirrels travel to Eynsford on a sweltering summer’s day.
Once again, the skipper won the toss and chose to bat on what looked like a feather bed.
Lloyd (20) and Neil (8) opened up and got the boys off to a solid start. Woodsy (34) once again hit some big shots before having his furniture rearranged.
Alfie (20) came to the crease on a mission. That mission was to hit the ball as hard as possible to every ball he faced, increasing the run rate rapidly during his stay.
Unfortunately, the skipper, Howesy and Sen went cheaply. However, Harry S batted brilliantly for his 37, although he did get carried away towards the end of his innings, trying to keep the strike when hitting the ball into the deep and refusing to run a single. The squirrels ended their innings on a below par 172-9.
In truth, the run chase was simple for Eynsford who never really got out of second gear. Sen and Andy M both took a wicket each as the opposition cruised to our total in 21 overs.
