Sunday saw the squirrels take on Locksbottom in the final game of the season.
The skip won the toss for the final time in his reign and elected to bat first on a scorching September Sunday.
The squirrels were on the back foot immediately after a rare top order failure with Alfie (3), Neil (15), Jake (10) and the skip (1) all failing cheaply.
It was then down to Pat (108*) and Kyle (37-2) to rebuild and rebuild they did. After a steady first 50, Pat went through the gears and smashed the ball everywhere in a stunning innings that oozed class and will give him plenty of confidence going into next season. He was well supported by Kyle in a big 5th wicket stand. The squirrels ended on 213-6
Ben (2-36) and Charles (1-14) then opened the bowling and complimented each other well. Charles bowled great areas and Ben got the ball hooping and on another day and with a slip cordon who could catch, might of had a few more wickets but showed what a superb talent he really is and is definitely the bowler to watch out for next season.
Jake’s (2-16) also bowled well as he brought a bag of tricks to the crease and had stand in keeper Min not knowing where to stand, especially when he bowled the heavy ball.
Harry, Oscar and Pat all could of had a wicket on another day but good ground fielding led to 3 run outs and Kyle (2-21) helped bowl the oppo out for 189 as the squirrels won by 24 runs.
Min did well deputising behind the sticks with two catches and one assist also.
It was another fantastic days cricket and played in the right spirit.
The squirrels finish the season having won 9 of their 15 games played this season.
