Match Report
The final game of the squirrels season saw us take on Town Malling.
After losing the toss, Lamorbey were asked to bat first on a tricky looking deck. Lloyd (16) and Pat (4) opened up on a difficult deck for batting and saw the new ball off well.
After Tom failed to trouble the scorers and Alfie got a quick 9, the ever quiet Woodsy joined Lloyd at the crease and bludgeoned a quick fire 31 to give us much needed momentum.
Charles (25) also batted with class and showed hit some elegant shots, with Hobbsy (36) crashing a few boundaries at the end to help steer the squirrels to what seemed a par score of 156. This score was made achievable by Lloyd laying the foundation and showing his experience on a two paced pitch.
Woodsy (1-17) and Sen (3-39) set the standards with the new ball and complimented each other perfectly.
Sen, in particular showed good rhythm and took two caught and bowled’s in a row in an exciting spell.
Nitish (3-6), Harry S (2-16) and Oscar (1-4) all bowled with great accuracy as the squirrels bowled Town Malling out for 87. The squirrels won by 69 runs.
Nitish in particular showed what a clever bowler he is, seaming the ball all over the place in a superb spell. He was backed up well in the field with Tom taking a good catch at mid off.
Well done to Harry S too on deservedly joining Woodsy as the season’s joint wicket taker, claiming a caught and bowled to finish the match.

It was a fitting end to a great season with the squirrels finishing the season with 9 wins, 7 losses and a tie.
Thanks to everyone who has played this year and made it enjoyable. Massive thanks to those who came and watched also. It was nice to hear opposition players often compliment how much support we had each game, especially given some of the long journies we made.
