Sunday saw Lamorbey Park CC travel to Wrotham and St George’s CC.
After getting changed in the local church across the road, the lads took a small walk to the picturesque ground. Well it was a short walk for most, except for Howesy, who decided to take the country route and come in at the top end of the ground which was in a different postcode to where the rest of the lads were.
The skip won the toss and decided to bat first on a decent looking deck. Lloyd (15-2) and Tom (25) got the squirrels off to a flier both looking to be positive when given any width.
Jake (51), Harry S (30) and Woodsy (59) all batted well in a strong looking Lamorbey batting line up as a big score was on the cards.
After then losing a few wickets cheaply, it was left to Kev (14*) and Nitish (10*) to see the lads to a strong 223-9 off their 40 overs. Nitish was so confident that he walked to the crease initially without his pads on.
The oppo got off to a slow start in an innings that never really got going. Charles (1-13) and Nitish (1-31) both bowled well opening up with Oscar (0-13) again bowling economically.
Kev then claimed a run out and the wickets began to tumble with Harry S (2-4), Jake (3-9) and Woodsy (2-5) all claiming wickets.
The squirrels ended up winning by 117 runs in a comprehensive victory against a friendly team.
Player of the match - Jake Kendall
